Searching the forum

I tried to use the search function on the forum and instead of finding an answer it asks me after a long time to download search.php I think it was.

Is this just something I have? or is it something with the site?

I think I made an error while I tested it :) when I tested SVS2MODE I think I had the mode set thus it didnt set it to the client. When I tested it now it worked. Thanks Jason. Though I still can't figure out how in the module can decide if the user should be able to set the mode or not. From the AP...

Adding a usermode

I'm trying to add a usermode that will for me works roughly like the usermode r. I have looked at some modules that sets up usermodes and I have got it working so fat that the usermodes works in unreal. What im unable to achieve is so that only services can set it. From my understanding reading the ...

Stealth do you mean that if he connects a client with a network sniffer he can read what is posted in the channels even if he isnt in the channel? Or does he needs to be connected in another way? Those of us that runs the server do use ssl most others dont. But server - server communication (unreal)...

Yes im running the latest build of Unreal.

Only way I can think of him doing this is that he got someone to install a script of some kind that he has made that forwards info to him.

Security issue

I had a user show me that he could get what I posted in a channel. Though he wasnt willing to show me how he did it. Im now wondering in what ways could he have done it. He wasnt in the channel. The channel has the modes +sntir set. The user is a normal user without any special privs. It looks to me...

I use remote includes now. I have a file with what the server needs to be able to start up and fetch the config files from where I store them. Problem with this is as I said before is that when the server that host the config files gets unreachable and you need to reash the server or the server has ...

Module for the config files download, request

Though I do like the way you can include config files it has it limitations. If the server goes down where you have them and you find yourself with a server that has rebooteed. You are not able to start up the irc server since the config files you need is not accesible. I have started to that there ...

Never had that problem with IRCservices and Unreal.

How does your listen block for port 6667 looks like?

if you have

Code: Select all

 clientsonly;
in it then it will not work since you says the IRCservice should be in a server class. Dont know if will get connected as it does now though.

try this

ntpdate pool.ntp.org

you need to provide a server to be used. Pool is a pool of ntp servers that you can zync against.

Are both shell acounts? Then I think they are doing a poor job keeping the server running nicly. You need to ask the server owners if they are updating the systemclock by running NTP. For this large offset they probly need to do a ntpdate first though to set the time correctly. (presume they are run...
