Re: FRIENDS PLEASE HELP

Is there a need to have your own server? Why not use one of the many small networks that already exist? There are hundreds of networks out there that will let you have your own channel and use Mibbit for your users and would be 100% free, and already managed by experienced operators. All you would n...

Re: joining a server as an oper with using "/oper"

There is not, the best you can do is tell operators that want this ability to use a script that automatically executes the appropriate /oper command.

Re: Issues while starting server [4.0.18]

Does that library exist on your system? If not, you may want to re-build Unreal (if you haven't already). Be sure to run 'make clean' before re-running ./Config

Re: multi kick

Looking at the notes on the bug tracker, it MIGHT be considered for 4.0.19. Syzop is making preparations to release 4.0.18, so you've still got a while to wait for this to happen. You can always follow this yourself on that bugs tracking page, right now the status is set to "acknowledged" ...

You may also wish to check your client settings, as many clients have built-in rate limiting that gets in the way as well.

Also, I moved this to the Services forum since it is an issue with getting Anope linked to your server.

Re: Unreal 14.0.17 and anope 2.0.6 will not communicate on port 7000

I know you probably don't want to hear it, but usually if you are getting "Connection Refused" it's a problem outside of UnrealIRCd and Anope. So, with that said... I would suggest trying following, in order: Ensure UnrealIRCd has a listen block for port 7000. Check your netstat output to ...

Re: Addoper modules

The only module I can think of that provides a function to add an oper is Angrywolf's "opers" module, found here: http://www.angrywolf.org/modules.php

To my knowledge, no one has updated this module or made one similar for UnrealIRCd 4.

Re: Spanish forum

We have tried to have an "International" forum in the past where people would be able to seek support in their own language, but it didn't quite work out as well as we had hoped over the years. There were always people looking for the first place they could post, and ultimately ended up po...

Re: Using Windows LDAP Auth with UnrealIRCd on Windows

UnrealIRCd will need a module to access an LDAP directory, regardless of which UnrealIRCd version or operating system. The reasoning for that is because IRC was initially not designed to authenticate against anything more than the server itself (UnrealIRCD) or a services server (your NickServ/ChanSe...

Re: need help Windows to linux move

For running UnrealIRCD on Linux, you can use just about any Linux distro out there. Currently my favorite has been Debian, but that's because it's a quick install and works out-of-the-box on most systems. I also use CentOS for many standalone servers since it is easy to work with. As far as UnrealIR...

Re: Is unrealircd 4.0.5 a total failur ?

UnrealIRCd 4 has definitely not been rushed. It took lots of planning and plenty of behind-the-scenes coding and movement in order to get everything put together. As with many major software overhauls, there may be some minor points overlooked which is why there are frequent updates to UnrealIRCd 4 ...

Re: How to op an user an channel when iam ircop

You would use the /mode command, as if you were an op on the channel: /mode #channel +o user Please note that your operclass will need to have the "override" permission, or at least "override::mode" For reference, here is the documentation page for the operclass block: https://ww...

Re: Could not load unrealircd.conf

I also suggest going through your configuration and removing any comments and information that is not needed for the IRCd to run. A configuration with 700+ lines is too long and will cause issues (either issues with Unreal processing it or being nearly impossible to manage when something needs to be...
