Massive-bump, but thought id rasie this point: Can u-lined servers (eg stats, services) be excluded from the operators count? My problem is solved (I edited the anope source to have their usermodes include +H), but it will help others less experienced, and also is not a 'true indication' of 'real' o...

A suggestion, try adding your nickname to the access list of the channel if it is not on there already.

I mean only to throttle receiving X amount of PMs from X amount of users within X seconds, at once. So, allow without throttle general PM conversation of at most 3 different users sending you a PM at the same time within *one second*. But throttle the sending / warn the user about incoming spam or s...

Protection against PM flood?

A few weeks ago I had some botnet visit my server, and they (about 20 or so) PM'd a few of our users a few times (causing 20 PM windows to show up, crashing their client). I was thinking, this must be noticable somehow via the serverside? Is there a way to (or a possible update) to suspend receiving...

Hey, Raise your ircd config files sendq value (or maxq I cant recall what it is) under the 'clients' class file to something like 100,000 (do not place a comma in the config, just enter 100000). Then, give and make sure your bots oper up as an IRC Operator - They will require atleast the 'global' IR...

Hmm just a question. In Anope there is OPER and ADMIN lists. (Services Oper/Services Admin). Then in Unreal there is a Services Admin flag. My question is what does setting a services oper/admin in anope do, and what does a services admin flag do? My assumption is that: Services Oper flags in anope ...

Its really not that troublesome that your server IPs are being shown to opers...

Just remember all users will know the IPs of your servers anyway, they connect to them!

You need the Services Oper/Admin flag to interact with services like that by force.

You may also need to add yourself to the OPER/ADMIN list on OperServ.

Sounds like its a problem unrelated to UnrealIRCd?

Have you checked other firewall rules, maybe your router is timing out or dropping the connection etc

Have you restarted the server (or rehashed the config file) for the changes to take effect?

Im running UnrealIRCd 3.2.1 and Anope as well, all working fine (Unreal 3.2x is supported by Anope).

Also, maybe a database wipe would not matter that much to you?

Yeah I did read it, I could not find anything like that for Anope however.

Just seems silly to not include a standard response you can give (a line of text) for a gline as you would for a kline etc.

It shouldnt be hard to tack on a 'GLINE INFO TEXT' variable to the config, surely? If anything add this to the config, if your worried about consistances between servers, well, thats their problem. With an info line atleast I can customize the ban message and indicate if you have problems please ema...
