That's just a notice, not the actual DCC. :) Thank you Syzop for your help. I didn't allow it on my client so didn't even think of that. Doh! Umm.. yes I added it to all servers and rehashed. This is my third day. So the file is now blocked by the dcc deny field. What is the best way to go about gl...

Re: Security
Trying to get all the possible security on an irc network running unrealircd. If anyone has any suggestions or would like to help please respond here or e-mail me at either * or * It works better if you ask specific questions, rather than just generic questions. Because not everyone uses a scriptable client? You are correct sir! Also its easier for the linux box to rehash when it does the update rather than to rely on some user on IRC to do it with a script. I am not 'ALWAYS' online, and if I want to make sure the machine was rehashed it just makes way mor...

I should point out, there are a few downsides to a centralized oper login type system: Assuming these servers are running linux I would recommend a small bash script that uses SCP to send all your config files to the other servers. This is what my network uses to update it's 8 servers. All updates ...

Re: Globals
Hello there, When an ircop is defined as global, are you supposed to be able to login in with that oper on other servers without it if they're linked? I have two servers linked but only the opers defined in the linked server's config can login. If it's not supossed to do this, I suggest it. I think...

I've been busy moving my laptop/chat computer over to linux to force myself to learn more about the OS. Now if i could figure out how to get server notices in the active window, i would be super happy. the xchat forums are even more dead then the ones here. I installed Gentoo on my laptop a couple ...
