Re: ban ip block
Actually, I just put the blocks in place and figured if it didn't work I would look for another solution. It worked, so thats cool. I appriceate the followup though. I know that I don't have all the isp's for the nation, but thats ok.... If a new isp floods us from those nations, I'll deal with them...

ban ip block
Ok, this is going to be a touchy subject.... I am not trying to offend anyone... But... I'm sick of being flooded by a few specific nations. I've started collecting the cidr's for isps for the nations flood our small network and am ready to slam the door completely on them. I could put this in my fi...

Jobe1986, thank you for your response
I wanted to follow this up with the fact I've tracked down what caused this. When I seen the error message that I previuosly posted, I didnt toally walk the tcl code to see what was going on. I knew that it was issuing private messages, but I didn't look no further. What I found is this eggie also o...

Has anyone had any problem with eggdrops and Unreal3.2.6
We've had a channel eggdrop running now for errr, years without any changes to the tcl scripts. Sence we have updated to Unreal3.2.6, we seen that some of the commands were no longer executing. When I watched the commands in telnet, I seen we were receiving the following errror: [11:08] Tcl error [p...

I really need to learn to type
It was, using her husbands picture. And saying it was him.
This person was just too stupid to know it was her husband, and was using it when he was talking to her. Thats how she caught him.

ok, thanks
Our policy is that opers can only have an oline on one server, so they wouldnt be on another server trying to op up. Least, on purpose. Lol, yes. I have seen that. But, I usualy join the server that the oper is having problems on when I correct their olines so that I can see all messages and once i ...

password encryption
We are running unreal 3.2.3 on various unix shell platforms, and have encrypted all of our oper passwords using the crypt auth type. The encryption representation of the password that is used in the oline's are created using the shell command ./unreal mkpasswd crypt <blablabla> and then applied to t...

ack, I just read that message again.
He used the girls husband's picture, and was using his nick. That is how we posted the pictures. She caught him red handed passing the picture of her husband off as himself. I basicatly looked this guy up on messengar, told him he was a total twit and that I was feeding him to my animal opers for th...

We let our server admins set their own policy
On our network, we let the server admin set their policy. My policy on my server is pretty lose. People have jobs, children, things like that. Shoot, sometimes people just burn out on irc. I have a tendacy to keep their olines active even if I don't see them over a period of time. We have other admi...

Anyone ever have this happen on their network?
Our network is small but we are a happy crew most of the time. We have two web sites we maintain with one of them having pictures of everyone that chats their. Even if they are part time chatters, we are happy to post their picture. Just makes it a little more personal. I had one of my opers come to...

ok, i need to load my test server
My test's are skewed, and I cant tell what works or not. I have tkl's on all servers. Everything worked, I logged on and didn't op up. Changed my nick to the spamfilter, and watched my wife get killed. Chuckle, don't you just hate when that happens? But, least I know that changing to that nick will ...

I was running two connections for this test
Strange, first time I connected sa a non oper with the nick. Everything I had online with my ip got wacked, including my wife. I ran the same test again, because I was making sure both upper and lower case would get wacked on the nick. And she didn't get glied the second time. I'll have a non oline ...

nick spamfilter
This question is not how to set the spamfilter, but if the spamfilter will work if someone already connected changes their nick to what the spamfilter is set to? I have tested the spamfilter I want on connections, and it works just fine. When I am connected already, and change to the spamfilter nick...

ya know, ive looked at that
I did not see that, I swear. All I seen was random letters. I put the spam filter you sugested in, and so far. Have seen only one innocent. I'm sure it will be more. I expanded on the kill message, to assist any innocent user that gets taken out. I'll watch. Whats intresting is. We have random lette...

I did think about that
I was thinking, who would use the $decode in a normal conversation. We have some scripters, but basicatly I don't see them using the decode for anything. The only thing I was worried about was when people were kicking scripting ideas around, on how to best do something. And possibly getting caught t...
