What i would *strongly* recommend is to NOT use the DNS of the router. I've found it, in general, to be very very flaky. Get the DNS servers of the ISP and hard code those into the unreal server system. At that point, everything should resolve fine.

I would make sure the IP address your trying to bind to exists on that system. If your behind a router, you can't use your public IP. I would also make sure that nothing else is using that port.

Otherwise the answer is no, you cannot change a room name while people are in it.

Onotices definatly have their uses, as do other notices. What i was refering to was adding it to the existing command of a ban.

When a command like that get's issued, everyone in the channel can see it. So to me, it's stating the obvious, witch i find highly annoying.

Some other/old servers had specific user modes in a channel that would ban "just them" The one i remember is +q from chatspace (this is going back years).

A banned user will get an error from the server saying they are glined/klined etc. A firewall will give a connection timeout error. I will agree with syzop, looks like a non-ssl client on an SSL port.

if your using anope, you need to set super-admin access to get +o in each channel.

I don't recommend it, most users feel it's abusive of the admins to use such access.

I've written several PHP bots that work well on my server (where i can play with ping times and such) I'm having an issue connecting to a remote IRC server. The script keeps timing out during periods of low traffic.
