Re: Missing IRCops
what's your policy in regards to this? It heavily depends on the kind of ircop. We have some strict policies about this on our network but they leave enough freedom for the admins. Any admin is free to add local ircops to his box and to remove/keep them as he so pleases. But when it comes to global...

Unix for me.
And to be exact; Solaris 10. Its been almost a year now that I moved some of my Linux (Debian) servers to Solaris because I'm slowly growing a little unhappy with the way the whole development cycle is going. Especially the move from 2 kernel branches (stable/unstable) to one have made me seriously ...

Re: max.user
Read the Unreal FAQ. Its likely that your OS cannot handle more and as such you'll need to focus on that. All of this is explained in the FAQ (to some degree).skynet wrote:i have a problem! On my IRCD cant connect more then ~1024 users

I have a small problem believing that Unreal would stall on a massive part. Recently I tested the new Anope on an Unreal 3.2.3 running on Solaris 10 and thrown a lot of shit at it while keeping a session running which simulated clients connecting/logging into services/staying online/some timing out/...

Allowing your computer to get hacked by running programs in a way which makes it a lot easier to gain full access is stupid. Not only can this affect your own box (data and software on the PC) but is likely to cause hinder for other people on the InterNet as well (think about spam, open relay and a ...

Re: Disabling flood for certain user ?
The only way I'm aware of is by adding another class block and making sure that the user falls within it. Then raise the sendq/recq settings and setup an extra allow{} block so that the user is put in the right class block.]Godlike[ wrote:How can i disable a server (Excess flood) protection for one user ?

Re: extended bans
They all come from a website using my applet and they all connect to a channel, I don't want them to go to another channel. This is not something you usually define on the server part and quite frankly I doubt that you can set this for a selection of users (perhaps a module). Normally you'd define ...

Re: Light service ?
I've tried to find a service that users can register a user/pass and a channel with. I do not want 415 different services like nickserv operserv .... only one. I think that will be hard to do but I also wonder; why not several services ? If it is ease of use you're after just setup a service like A...

My network doesn't promote it but a growing majority of our users prefers it over a plain connection. I definitely wouldn't stop allowing plain connections, but a reserved port for ssl is absolutely something I'd consider mandatory. Next to clients we're also planning to implement ssl server links b...

Re: unix scripting
Can someone direct me to a good forum on unix shell scripting? That is a rather difficult question because Unix knows a lot of different shells and some of them really are not compatible with each other. For example take a look at the Bash shell and the C Shell... Anyway, I suppose you want to use ...

Re: Starting UnrealIRCd problem
Yes, it's *nix environment. User has write access to tmp Moreower, I've set 777 rights ti ensure. Partiotion is /usr, so isn't noexec. Just to make sure because this is happening on more than one environment: I'm not referring to /tmp but the tmp subdirectory in your Unreal configuration directory....
