Pardon my use of proper proigramming terms, but how does the ircd interpret the badwords block? Is it top to bottom, bottom to top, or some other method?
This is the scenario:
I want to wild card *shit* but wanted certain words such as "shitzu" to be allowed (we have a host that talks about his ...

Unintentional QLINE (help me understand why)
Hey there!
I had a chatter accidentally caught in my QLINE:
[19:15] -chat.mynetwork.com- Forbidding Q-lined nick mrs_doolittle from [x.x.x.x].
And here is my config snippet:
ban nick {
mask "*A*d*m*i*n*";
reason "Unauthorized Nickname";
};
ban nick {
mask "*R*o*o*t*";

Eggdrop and set::maxchannelsperuser
Hey there. I support a user-base that use a legacy client and they only know how to ban through the GUI. Until I figure out a better way to maintain bans on the channel after the channel empties (a whole entire discussion I will one day solicit opinions on), I need to put an Eggdrop in every channel ...

Why would that be spying? Corporations monitor all network traffic, they even claim to own the email on their servers, and go out of their way not to use the word "private" in any published materials. I don't see how logging what commands users have issued is spying. Logging personal conversations ...

Can UnRealIRCd send a globops when ChanOps sets/del a ban?
My problem is that my server runs on Win32. 'nuff said.
I need to keep channel bans, even after the channels empty. There are no eggdrops I've seen even considered mediocre for Windows. If you have a recommendation, I'd love to hear it.
My goal is to learn UNIX, but that will take a while, as I am ...

Can UnRealIRCD log all user commands?
I read the docs and searched for forums, so please forgive me if this is an easy answer to find.
I would like to log all IRC commands users issue. Our server is low traffic so log file size isn't really an issue. Is the possible, either through server config or a module (if one exists)?

Yeah, so what I am primarily interested in is a replacement for this Windows box that does UnRealIRCd, Anope, SolarStats. I will also learn PHP on Apache(?), and of course MySql, also interested in AW Stats, BIND, of course. Just a nice little ol' server box. And a nice EggDrop, too.

I hate to revisit this issue, and I know no one wants to support anything on Windows, but I shut down my server nicely while I wired in a dedicated electrical circuit for my server cabinet, and after I powered the thing back up, not only had the NickServ database become corrupt again, the ChanServ ...

Greetings ---
I have set-up my UnRealIRCd on Windows, with Anope services, and SolarStats, and attempted to install AW Stats as well for my web server, and MySQL. Many of these tool compiled for Win32 doesn't included support for MySql, which seriously sucks. Also, I cannot tell you how many times ...

Thanks for your help. That was the problem. My server has not gone "live" yet, so my testing all comes from the same DNS domain. When you register your nick, the NickServ will take your mask and store it automatically in the registered nick's access-list. I was able to see this, and so I ...

Anope kill question
Hello ---
This may sound like a dumb question, but when using Anope NickServ services, and after a user registers his nick, and sets "kill" and "secure" to "on" ... shouldn't anyone who tries to log on with that nick (in the future, assuming the registered nick is not connected) get a message that ...
