Ended up getting it to compile by using fbsd-dev's cURL.sh script: http://forums.unrealircd.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=353 My guess is that c-ares and curl needed to be built after they were extracted and before trying to build Unreal3.2. If that's the case, it wasn't completely clear in the INSTAL...

Was there any resolution to this? I'm having the exact same problem.
