Re: Whois
You may be on to something, oat. I'd never noticed that before. No doubt a custom job, though. I imagine, if you knew where to look and how to make the changes, that you cld do this once you untar Unreal. Change the source code to suit what you want, then compile and install. Good luck with that

Re: eggdrop i-lined
Incredible! I no more than make this post then find the answer.
in the eggdrop.conf, I had to change:
check-mode-r 1
to
check-mode-r 0

eggdrop i-lined
I had my eggdrop on my IRCd server. Mover her to one of my other servers yesterday. She joins just fine. But as soon as she identifies to NickServ, she trips out and leaves. Now I know this isn't Anope support here. But I don't think this is an Anope (or eggdrop) issue. Here is what happens: [15:36:...

Re: Whois
Hello oat:
To my knowledge, those lines are part of the Unreal source code. I don't think you'll be able to disable them.
Btw, good to see you made the switch. I think you'll like Unreal w/Anope. You know where to find me

Re: Difficulty connecting via irccloud
No excuses! I had enuff time to post, but I didn't take the time to remove the IPv6 from the subdomain, too. My bad. root@xtremeirc:~# netstat -anp|grep ircd|grep LISTEN tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:8067 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 23898/ircd tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:6660 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 23898/ircd tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:6661 0.0.0.0:* L...

Re: Difficulty connecting via irccloud
Syzop: I don't use irccloud either. But i got my network listed there to help my network grow, and connections there are difficult at best. All other connections to my network from any other client are a breeze. You can try it out, if you want, if you don't mind, as I wld like to know if it is them ...

Difficulty connecting via irccloud
I got my little network listed on irccloud - YAY! But the deal is it takes like 3 or 4 tries to make a connection, using either 6667 or 6697 for ssl. I tried all the other networks listed and I connected to them first time, everytime. Most people don't like waiting several tries for a connection to ...

IPv6 Connections
I was just wondering if I have to have a separate server for IPv6 connections. In my listen block, this is what I have: listen *:6697 { options { ssl; clientsonly; }; }; listen *:8067; listen *:6667; listen [2a00:d880:6:74f::2]:6667; I've done the reverse DNS and have that IPv6 pointing to irc.xtrem...

Re: dnsbl module?
My bad. I found this particular module @ https://wiki.anope.org/index.php/2.0/Modules
I thought it wld be an Unreal module, but is a module for Anope.
Case closed.

katsklaw & Syzop:
Sorry for the late reply to you both. I wish I'd seen your posts earlier I'm still on Deb 7 and Unreal is purring for me. Excellent stuff! I'll upgrade the OS when you guys roll out Unreal3.4.x. Again, thanks for your responses. Much appreciated.

UnrealIRCd is awesome! It took me less than an hour to configure it and Anope and put it into production. Really good stuff. Then another told me abt InspIRCd. He put his insp.conf up on pastebin for me to look at. After viewing it, I decided Unreal was a better choice. That said, there was one part...

Re: Unreal3.2.10.4 not accepting OpenSSL
Forget it. I guess my mistake was upgrading to debian 8. I guess Unreal needs debian 7 and its associated files to run. Sorry for the post...

Unreal3.2.10.4 not accepting OpenSSL
Apparently you do not have both the openssl binary and openssl development libraries installed. You have two options: a) Install the needed binaries and libraries and run ./Config OR b) If you don't need SSL... Run ./Config and say 'no' when asked about SSL (or pass --disable-ssl to ./configure) ===...
