Re: How to setup domain?
Your A record should be pointed to the ip in question. Ex: Host Type Destination irc A xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx @ A xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx However the error you are getting, is starting up the server. Your Unreal is already running, or something else is running on port 6697.

Re: UnrealIRCd 4.0.15 ./Config
DO you have root access to the server, or is it on a shell.
a) root access, you need to update some packages via apt or yum
b) Contact your service provider.

Re: [REQUEST] Auto vHost by port
Not seeing how this would help anybody. The Vhost is only shown during /whois, and whois already reply's with Numeric 671 if the user is connected via SSL to state "using Secure Connection"

Re: Question for you Gotem
It is, but who reads the damn MOTD. I found that most clients ignore the servers message anyways and display their own. Kinda a PITA if you ask me. Perhaps I will hook the join and send a PM if they aren't SSL

[DONE] Channel Auto-Join by port
Similar to "set auto-join", however only auto join people to a channel when the connect to a specific port.
Ex: port 6667 join #non-ssl
port 7000 join #ssl
Ex: port 6667 join #non-ssl
port 7000 join #ssl

Re: IRC Bot attacks and what to do against it
There are no pro's to using bots. But people connect bots to networks. They are known as botnets. Some are used to DDoS servers. Some are use for File sharing. There's many "Uses" for them, most not legal. So the question is how to deal with them.

Re: IRC Bot attacks and what to do against it
1: Is your network public/known listed on irc search engines ? - Yes 2: Do you allow insecure connections ie: non-ssl ? - Yes 3: How many connections per/ip (non-ssl & ssl) ? - 3/ip with exceptions 4: Do you allow bots ? If yes which type and under what rules. - Depends. We do have some bots, bu...

Re: irc server on Raspberry Pi for intranet only
127.0.0.1 only allows loopback connections. You would want to use your 192. 10. or 172. private address to listen to. your me { name } should be the HOSTNAME of your rasperpi.

Dragone2. You should also give him a complete list of 3rd party modules that you use. It could be a conflict between modules.

Re: Mode "o"
On reconnect, they should only get the snomasks they are set with in their oper block. //mode -o will make them no longer an oper. SOmething else is going on if the snomask settings aren't getting set. If you would like, I'd be glad to live chat. My server is irc.420-hightimes.com, and I'm in #hight...

Re: Mode "o"
Are you enabling the snomask o in the oper block by chance? Anything set in the individual oper blocks will override anything in the set:: block
Also, you must deop by "/mode <nick> -o" and reoper for any changes to take effect.

Re: Mode "o"
Mode o itself is Oper Status. Snomask o is what you want to set, and it should be able to be unset via
snomask-on-oper "+kscfvGq-o" *** Please note, that you have to explicitly enable all modes you want set to on. Setting this to just -o will disable all snomasks.

Re: Mode "o"
Mode o is what gives opers oper status. YOu CANNOT remove it. If you don't want them to have o, don't give them a "oline"
