I use https://evolution-host.com
Outages on average 2-3 times a year for a couple of hours, however they always reimburse your account with more credit than you lost.
I don't know if that's good or bad, I've only ever hosted with them.

Re: Next step to setup irc
That site explains in plain English the documentation and what everything means. If you can't get your head round how to read documentation, read it some more. There is no more added language anyone can add that would be better than that page. That page contains everything you could possibly need to...

Re: Next step to setup irc
MRE, you have pasted the link that I would have chosen to paste to you to help resolve this.
Please see the link you have pasted.
I think if you're having trouble reading instructions in English, you can use google translate to translate entire web-pages.

Re: Next step to setup irc
When it says you are in "~/unrealircd-6.0.4.1" after typing `cd unrealircd-6.0.4.1` (which you are), you then must type `./Config`, and follow the on-screen instructions.

Re: Next step to setup irc
MRE: It seems you're not reading the instructions. Indeed there is no version named 6.0.X, you must replace the X with the latest version, in this case 6.0.4.

Re: I locked myself out channel #opers.
hi again
after a quick check here https://www.linode.com/docs/guides/usin ... elay-chat/
I can't see that irssi supports a lot of commands, and would seem you have to prefix a lot of commands with the same as before
/quote mode #channel -i

Re: I locked myself out channel #opers.
final thing I can think of then, specifically for unrealircd, is change your opertype in the unrealircd config from: "netadmin" to: "netadmin-with-override" then rehash, and you should have access to /sacmds Please check those 2 pictures. I hope it explains what I'm doing wrong....

Re: I locked myself out channel #opers.
hi firstly, check your unrealircd config that your opertype is netadmin. don't forget you need to actually "/oper opername password" on IRC after you've connected. if you make any changes, you should be able to update the changes by using the command "/rehash" once you've got tha...

Re: Hide specific server join notices?
hi, this sounds like something that your client would need to modify.
if your client supports running scripts, search up the website for it and see if you can find any further information/contact them instead
