Re: Can receive but not Send

@minty, is this your own server? If not, I suggest you to contact the IRC server admin of the server.

Most popular UnrealIRCd modules in 2019

Thanks to the IRCstats.org project we have a list of which 3rd party modules are most used on UnrealIRCd. The following top-10 is based on the internet scan from Dec 30 2018, filtered on UnrealIRCd 4.x (1214 servers): m_netadmins: Implements kill and *:Line protection for privileged opers m_listrest...

Re: Can receive but not Send

There can be many reasons for a message to be blocked. However, when UnrealIRCd blocks a private message, it will always send a notice or numeric reply about it to the sending IRC client * . So look around and make sure you don't see such an error message (in the window or in the status window). Any...

Re: [REQUEST] Module to enhance DNSBL against known VPN providers

I think it would be better if this information would be converted to a DNSBL by someone offering this service.

Perhaps ask DroneBL or some other service if they are interested in doing this? Then it could be used by a large part (if not all) of the IRC community, and even beyond IRC..

Re: Disabling Default Modules

The file conf/modules.default.conf contains a number of sections, the first one is: // User commands (MINIMAL) // These provide just the minimal set of IRC commands that are // required by RFC1459 along with WATCH and MAP. Some of the commands you mention are in this first section. I would not recom...

Moving infrastructure

I'll be moving the webserver for all *.unrealircd.org domains today. This will result in an outage of all UnrealIRCd sites for 30-60 minutes.

Re: Logging who PMs who

I'm not aware of any module that does this. You could ask Gottem (or someone else) to create one. Although I think this is quite a specific request not many others have :)

Re: [SSL ERROR]: too large

Glad to hear. And I'm probably the KVirc user you are referring to. I connected with the kvirc 4.9.3 package installed on Ubuntu 18.04, nothing special configured, just /server -s irc.xtremeirc.net 6697 from a brand new installation and indeed it worked. I disconnected myself after some time. One sm...

Re: [SSL ERROR]: too large

HeXiLeD, his problem is not due to TLS versions or ciphers as he said before he can connect fine to irc.unrealircd.org, which only permits TLSv1.2 and PFS ciphersuites at the moment. Saying his new wildcard cert would not help anything is incorrect too, as the weechat error he pasted was due to the ...

Re: [SSL ERROR]: too large

Thanks for the version numbers. Nothing out of the ordinary there. A configuration used by many people, Debian 9 in particular. I'm beginning to think my self-signed certificate is the problem. But damn! Wasn't ever like that before. It is true that clients are becoming more strict with regards to s...

Re: [SSL ERROR]: too large

By default nmap does not scan all ports (1-65535), only the "most common ports", the "Not shown: 996 closed ports" is a small hint with regards to that. You have to use -p <portrange(s)> and then you'll see the port is open. Anyway, off-topic. Let's get back to your issue: I got in with hexchat via ...
