Banning an ISP and allowing connection with a password.

I want to ban an entire ISP on my server and allow certain users from that ISP to connect with a password. I know about ban ip and except ban, but the second one does not allow setting a password. For what I searched and read around here, it's something in the allow block, right? I tried to do it, b...

I also go for http://www.alcatrazmedia.com/hosting . My IRCd is there, seems to run pretty good, although I had some problems for a few days (continuous pinging out, lagging server and shell), but that was solved. They also upgraded the OS in record time, they have double firewall... The price is qu...

Of course. After all, "localhost" IS a network address, which points back to your computer.

And UnrealIRCD can run on (almost) all computers. It should work even on dial-up, even though it's not reccommended. :P

Sorry, I don't know what you're talking about.

You can also post in the "International" forum, in your language. Maybe there are a few french people here that can help you.

It's not when the server was "made", it's when the ircd was started.

1. That was a typo.
2. "#" is a channel name... Well, I always thought that "#something_here" is a channel name.

Thanks for your answers.

2 strange things.

I'm currently running Unreal3.2.3. I just wanted to have a little fun, so I tried some things. 1. I joined a random channel, say #asd. Then I typed by hand "/mode $asd +k *". This would have made the channel key set to "*". The problem is that when I double click in the channel (...

The EASIEST way to do it is like this: 1. set up a paybnc. (visit http://www.psybnc.info for details) 2. connect it, oper it 3. add this script (visit http://www.psybnc.info for more info about psybnc scripting): server NOTICE *!*@* * "*Client connecting*" echo "CHGIDENT $P12 new_iden...

Real names shoud never be banned... maybe if only they would have bad words in or show signs of an infected client. Banning ALL realnames sounds... unusual. And because there are no "except realname" or "allow realname" directives, it's a stupid thing too, because NOONE can join ...

Channels are dynamic. Once a person tries to join an inexistent channel, that channel is created on the spot. Once a person leaves a channel and he channels is then empty, it dissapears, and and all its modes are deleted as well. If you want the modes to be permanent, you need at least a person/bot ...

Nah... a simple eggdrop/psybnc can do the job, no need to change the source, re-compile, lose support. You'll find some scripting examples and the documentation needed on their websites. Here's an example for psyBNC: server NOTICE *!*@host.com * "*Client connecting*" echo "CHGHOST $P1...
