Re: error
i rehashed unrealircd and it did nothing So you run "./unrealircd rehash" and then you have this error, right? The short answer is that it means the server took too long to respond to (finish the) rehash. Longer than 20 seconds, which is rather unusual. I have not heard of someone else ha...

Re: Cannot connect
Just tried to connect to your server, and it is still serving a self-signed certificate on port 6697, it is not serving the Let's Encrypt certificate on that port. Have you rehashed ? And when you do REHASH, make sure it doesn't print any errors. When you see errors during rehash, the rehash is not ...

Re: Cannot connect
Yes exactly, if you use Let's Encrypt with a configuration like that, and the name of the certificate and the server name match, then you won't get a "certificate failed" error message and all will be good.

Re: error
Seems you managed to crash UnrealIRCd. I see you reported the crash via the crash reporter so I've found and fixed the bug now. Thanks for the report! The bug is if you have a log block with destination "syslog" it will crash. So better avoid that until a new version comes out (6.1.1, soon...

Re: Cannot connect

Re: Registered user
(I know, old topic, was just going through it) A more common question is to limit only private messages to registered users, while still allowing channel messages. This is explained in "Disable private message" in the new Security guide . For disallowing messages in channels from unregiste...

Re: Spamfilter and \p script
Hmm I have some doubts it is that, or at least i hope not, otherwise spammers should use The Lounge ;) Maybe you have your the lounge IP exempt from spamfilter checks? Like an ELINE with 'F' or an except ban { } block with 'spamfilter' or 'all'. Or you are oper or target is oper, or spamfilter excep...

Re: Spamfilter and \p script
Works OK here with: SPAMFILTER add -regex cp warn 0 arabic_test \p{Arabic} And then other person does this (NOT ircop): PRIVMSG #test :test سلام :maintest.test.net 659 user PRIVMSG :Command processed, but a copy has been sent to ircops for evaluation (anti-spam) purposes. [arabic test] If it doesn't...

Great, probably too late by now but I recommend checking the IRCOp guide which should get you started as an IRCOp

Re: No PEM, have Let's Encrypt CRT, KEY, ISSUER.CRT
Our guide Using Let's Encrypt with UnrealIRCd has this initial step: Setting up certbot for use with UnrealIRCd . In the section "Tweaking permissions on the key file" it does things similar to what you did. It talks about setting permissions (and how), if/when they will be maintained, min...

Re: UnrealIRCd 6.1.0 released
Some problems were fixed soon after the release: The *NIX/Source tar.gz is completely unchanged, but... the './unrealircd upgrade' command was broken due to an error on the unrealircd.org webserver. (this was fixed after 3hrs) The Windows version complained about a missing module. The download has b...

UnrealIRCd 6.1.0 released
I'm happy to announce the release of UnrealIRCd 6.1.0 stable. This is the direct successor to 6.0.7, there will be no 6.0.8. This release contains several channel mode +f enhancements and introduces a new channel mode +F which works with flood profiles like +F normal and +F strict. It is much easier...

Re: Help setting up Anope!
Yeah that is indeed a bit confusing. But it's not that... actually the whole outgoing { } stuff can be removed from the link block, because link::outgoing is never used for services like anope / atheme. I had not noticed the poster already had a 6900 correctly setup without TLS. Then it should just ...
