heads up msg - possible upcoming IRC JPEG worm
Hi, this is just a heads up message... a JPEG exploit was released almost a week ago which succesfully exploits the MS04-028 jpg bug [sometimes referred to as the GDI+ JPEG bug]. Now, today on Sep 28, a virus is on the move exploiting this (not on IRC). As you might understand by now, this virus spr...

The thing is, if you are experiencing odd problems or crashes, you shouldn't be surprised if we ask you to try it with a 'clean' server (no 3rd party mods). This is because in the past 6 months or so, like 70% of the crashes reported to us were caused by 3rd party mods. As you might have noticed, we...

Here are the spamfilters that seem to work: /*** MyMoon ***/ /* NOTE: MyMoon consists of 42 random sentences, I did my best * to reduce them to <42 spamfilters while still spending few * CPU time, having few false positives, and keeping some readability. * This was mainly done by using ^ for all reg...

I've been working on a mod that detects + gzline's them before they even join channels etc. I've sent the mod to johnny to see if it also works on a real network (locally it did detect and kill them). Still, I guess it's a good idea to also make some spamfilters available, I'll see if I can work on ...

Ok, I've received the virus and it does indeed what was described above... It's 4am here so I'm gone now, but I'll certainly take a look again tomorrow. Anyway, since I was curious, here some facts: - It is not recognized by current F-Secure antivirus - The executable that stays running and connects...

woops.. I accidently deleted a post from someone here... asking for an url of where DeMiNe0 talked about, sorry ;P. My reply: I don't think such a site was created, nor do I see any need for it... we don't support code changes, the modules are now listed on the unrealircd.com website, and (as you ca...

Guys, not everyone is good at regexes.. I'm already happy someone reports such spam here in the first place ;). johnny: could you mail me at syzop AT unrealircd DOT com some more examples of recent blocked msgs? I want to see if I can connect at that host and grab the virus to analyze ;). [the http:...

seems to work fine here:target { channel; private; channel-notice; };
Code: Select all
spamfilter {
regex "^SPAM$";
target { channel-notice; };
reason "SPAM TEST";
action block;
};
#test Message blocked: SPAM TEST
(same with your 4 targets)

Hi, bugs/crashes should be reported on http://bugs.unrealircd.org/ , be sure to read the 'Main' section explaining how to report (the core/gdb/bt stuff). If you have problems reporting the thing, you could mail me at syzop AT unrealircd DOT com, but.. bugs* is really much prefered. On a sidenote, be...
