Did you even bother reading the documentation? you MUST have inorder to encrypt your passwords. adding ANOTHER layer of false security is REALY pointless... And useless. Its realy simple. Opers connect via ssl, use encrypted passwords, and use stric hosts, NOT *@*. and as this is a SUGGESTION, yeah....

huh wha? requireing a user to be connected via ssl inorder to issue the oper command is a bad idea? *crack*

... These would automatically load balance your servers. There IS a problem there. While an isp's dns cache will HAVE all the arecords in there for dns utilities, they DONT rotate the responce...atleast there are a fey ISPs that dont. Its a good step..but keep your users aware of the other servers ...

is an idea, allowing the oper::from::userhost being a fake hostname, previously logged in with /vhost login passwd can be troublesome or hard to implement? heh, a little late but the origional idea is unpheasable cause of sendque limit and such...get 2 or 3 channels with a back log of more than 40 - 50 lines...BOOM killed... ALSO..this would require either the client to run a script...or a rework of the irc arcitecture. eggdrop has PLENTY of loging scr...

Possible, yes, kinda. You would nee to write a script to interface useingn the ircd linking protocols, OR create a client server with a uline.
