Use fail2ban with unrealircd
Hi there, The "freenodegate" attack is back, and I'm really fed up with it. I use spamfilter and dnsbl to block them, but even if they can't connect to my IRC after being zlined, they came to my server. So I decide to create iptables rules each time a zline is added, with fail2ban. filter....

Re: Can receive but not Send
This doesn't seem to be an unreal trouble if other people can send message. The problem might be your client

Re: Permission Denied
NEVER install Unrealircd (or any IRC related) as root !
Create a separate user and use it.

Re: Unreal 4.2 with Anope 2.0.6
Ok, I found some troubles. link services.dxdhd.com { incoming { mask *@*; /* you'd better use the same IP as in your anope.conf : mask 127.0.0.1; */ }; outgoing { bind-ip *; /* or explicitly an IP */ hostname irc.dxdhd.com; /* same as below: does irc.dxdhd.com point to 127.0.0.1 ? I don't think so p...

You can put your configs here, just hide your passwords.
No need of PM, unless you want that only one person helps you.

Re: Saving and storing channel invite lines.
If your eggdrop is @ on a channel and if use-invites is set in the configuration file, you just add the invites in the partyline: .+invite user!name@host #channel (it understand wildcards) The eggdrop automaticaly add the +I for a certain delay. You have several options letting you to have the invit...

Re: Spam Bots
I use the new version of Gottem's listrestrict module but unfortunately, some bots succeed to join channels and spam. So, I had an eye on their activity and I saw they first register their nick and then they bypass the restriction. Simple response from me (using anope): I add a delay before they can...

Re: eggdrop
You forget to go in the install directory.
After the make install is done, you have to do cd ../eggdrop/ and then you can run your eggdrop.
You can have a look at http://www.egghelp.org/setup.htm (outdated) or https://wiki.eggdrop.fr/Installation_d%27un_eggdrop (in french)

Re: [REQUEST] Honeypot channel
The only problem is though, there's currently no clean way to do this. I'd have to override the entire LIST function to output only specific channels. I could dumb it down so you can't pass any options (like /LIST *chat*, /LIST >10, etc) until connectdelay passes, but that might not be entirely wha...

Re: Password for port 6667
After a few search: you can use m_portsifresi to give different password to each port, I guess it may work when setting only the 6667 or setting the other to blank

Re: Password for port 6667
You want to add a password only for the port 6667 ? I don't think it's possible, the password is globally set in the allow directive, not in the listen port.
But I'm peharps wrong.
