Re: Unreal3.2.10.4 not accepting OpenSSL
Unreal compiles fine on Debian 8. If you did a dist-upgrade from debian 7 to Debian 8 you'll have to recompile Unreal. You will need to install the ssl development libraries too: apt-get install libssl-dev

Re: A bug?
The proper way is to add the oper block in the unrealircd.conf file.
OperServ is not designed to globally manage ircd oper blocks, so it may or may not work.

Re: Cannel history message?
Short answer: no. Long answer, No because: 1> this will cause massive increases in resource overhead. 2> It requires the ircd to log channel messages, which is illegal in some countries. 3> messages sent to channel prior to the users join is none of the users business. 4> blindly sending users a cha...

Re: How to tell if an Allow block is being honoured
By using it. What I mean is if you have a block allowing something for a specific ip address or range, test it. connect from that ip/range and see if whatever you created the allow block for works. Please keep in mind that allow blocks are read from the bottom up and a user is placed in the first ma...

Re: Need Help Starting Unreal 3.2.10.4
Looks like Unreal is already running. Just because you delete the run directory, that doesn't automatically stop the running process. Simply stop the already running ircd, then start from the newly installed directory that you compiled to replace the directory you deleted. you cannot restart or reha...

Re: Server linking
hmmm, interesting. Please keep us posted if you don't mind as to how non-existent features and mode work across servers. For example: how does unreal handle being issued IRCX specific traffic when Unreal doesn't support IRCX, and how well do the ircds get along when the user/channel modes that aren'...

Re: Server linking
Hi, Sorry for such a terse answer. I've looked into this a bit further. 2.21 Server Linking Server Linking allows you to link your server with another server (or group of servers) running either OfficeIRC, DreamForge or UnrealIRCD. While it does say this in their manual, I doubt that it's still true...

No. The server protocols are not compatible. Presently Unreal can only link to other Unreal ircds.
