Could you verify the md5sum of that package? It should be 'cc24872a1382bc11e2fac96ac6b016f2'

Also, do you have enough free harddisk space / quota? (just in case something silently fails ;p).

jewles, reason I didn't post this in the moderators forum is *exactly* because it's not (just) about you... if it was I would have done that. But it was about a larger group of people which I didn't want to attack personally. Dukat: 1. [add quiz] Well it's probably possible and not too hard, I don't...

All this RTFM stuff...

[yeah this is technically off-topic, but it's really about this section, so...] This "RTFM!!!!"-alike stuff is getting a bit out of hand... It's almost like the more you say it, the more exclamation marks, the more unpleasant you bitch at users, the better you are! When I look at this for...

Yeah, seems you are right... Strange nobody noticed :(. Anyway, the page is down now so it no longer matters :p. (perhaps a good idea to do a cleanup once in a while) About ^ and $.. I'm always a bit unsure... coz if a user pastes it like that, eg: <User> <spreader> go to: http://www.virus.com/infec...

well, you can surely see the people who were raised on window computers... the aspiring network administrators (even if they don't know it) rotfl ;p. Anyway, as codemastr says (and I did too), we are not going to change such stuff in 3.2, breaking such stuff is really annoying... we named it '3.2 s...

Well, mIRC also doesn't ship with regex documentation eh? ;) Lots of apps don't, and Angrywolf is right, there are hundreds of regex tutorials out there, and some very good ones. A little introduction/howto (so not a manual, but.. to help newbies) was planned for 3.2-RC2 but... it wasn't done (yet?)...

Uhh @ +kill -squit.. doesn't make sense to me... So you are not allowed to kill 1 person, but you are allowed to split servers / entire nets which cuts the server off from like hundreds or thousands of clients... right :P. Anyway, I'm pretty sure if we would add the ability to limit those basic per ...

*@* is ok. People just like to think (which is logical) that after they changed something and it worked it must be that, however from time to time it happens that the change was totally unrelated and it got 'fixed' by ANOTHER event they didn't think. I see this all the time... like if internet or a ...

The block you pasted looks ok. Did you rehash? Or if you are just setting up a server, why not just restart. Then you can also check if it gives any errors or warnings. Also, both username and password are case sensitive, so you should do '/oper Karaken passwordhere'. If that still doesn't work... Y...

Also for security ('least privilege') and bugs (think 'crashbugs') it's much better to have a seperate client do it (eg: a bot) than to implement it in the irc server itself via a module. Plus, you can use a bit higher level programming languages than C ;).

Again.. get recent services... The thing you have is *several* years old (from '99!!!). Just go to http://www.anope.org/ and download 1.6.2 (or 1.6.0). Direct link: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/anope/anope-1.6.2.tar.gz?download . (If you wonder how I see that you are using such an old version,...

Looks like you didn't configure your services correctly. [Jun 04 13:24:12 2004] Services 4.3 (compiled for RFC1459) starting up That's wrong, you should configure it for unreal... Furthermore, this doesn't even look like anope. This is how it should go with anope 1.6*: [May 26 02:31:35 2004] Anope 1...
