not a bad idea.

because I was the first one who had the most trouble with remote includes... which is why I picked it to be the one thing I knew... :)

the best way I could see running a network (now) is using remote includes. Just because it allows you you to oper up on any server on the net. you can edit o:lines and other various configuration options remote and once preventing security problems and more work. there should be a mutual respect tha...

what you are looking for is called crontab. it's a script you run that checks and starts processes. unreal has a sample crontab in Unreal3.2/ircdcron.

Rerouting hasn't been profected yet thats why. Someone needs to code a better service that has the ability to connect to a set number of servers if one is down... but meh, what do I know about services and irc?

Apparently you are missing some key fundamental knowledge with domains. 1. In order to connect using a host/domain it has to be linked to an IP. This is done using DNS or Domain Name Service. 2. it will work on a router... if it didn't it wouldn't be very useful considering most of the highly used network backbones and datacenters use routers and firewalls. the key is configuring it currectly.
