Re: Why does unreal use old zlib/curl?

The only thing UnrealIRCd ships with by standard is TRE and cAres under /extras/, of which TRE is set to be replaced in the next release (whether be 3.2 or 3.3 from both todo lists I believe) and cAres is also setup to be updated to the latest release in the next release, but even at that its not ex...

Re: Unreal Start Problem

Either you weren't in the right directory, you never did a correct config and make of unreal, or it failed at some point along config or make.

Re: International nicknames can be visually equal

Well let me re-define it a bit since you didn't understand how he said it. No there isn't really any module for it because its doing exactly what its intended to by the core code itself, a module by most means would likely not be able to change how its being handled, but there won't likely be any mo...

Re: Error binding stream socket to IP 0.0.0.0 port 6667

It sounds like something is already listening on 6667, make sure you aren't trying to run two IRCd's at once, as if one is already running, you can't bind to the same port on the same address.

And yet you still aren't helping your case at all in the least to seem non-malicious : P

Nothing ever on any internet protocol should allow an unaccepted download to a local clients computer, IRC most of all.

Re: Unrealircd Settings

Since java is usually generally passes through a users real IP, an allow block isn't going to help much with that. Using a CGI:IRC w/out a CGI:IRC block in the settings would work sorta, as it would use the IP of the server its being hosted on, so you would only need to 'allow' that IP for the webse...

Re: Servers delink.

Its generally a good idea (at least with a few of those modules especially if I recall) to have them loaded on every server. Should prob document that in the modules system when they should be network wide... (puts on to do list)

Re: ~ & @ No ChanOp Flags WHY ?

Make sure you configured ircservices properly to recognize its connecting to UnrealIRCd. There should be a 'protocol' setting in one of the configuration files, it has to be set for unreal's protocol. Beyond that, I've not used IRC Services 5.1 yet, so not sure if there are any other directives in i...

Re: ~ & @ No ChanOp Flags WHY ?

What services are you using exactly? Most services should recognize the +qa modes as Founder/Admin statuses, unless you are using a weird services.

Quick-get System

So after a few nights of development here, an idea which spawned a couple/few months back actually is complete. We've now implemented a 'Quick' get system of sorts to grab UnrealIRCd from the site while still utilizing the mirrors here and let us keep track of download statistics as well. This featu...

There is no 'Easy' way to do that no, as its completely beyond even an IRCop's privledges to forge such a thing as its done within the protocol itself.

Re: Unable to resolve server

Common DNS, if the domain you are trying to 'access' doesn't exist, it can't resolve.

Gotta have an IP basically behind it to resolve to.

Re: auto script needed

I've never come across an auto-script that does exactly what you specified together, but I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to make one if you have at least basic *nix understanding, you would just need to toss it under /etc/init.d/ most likely and add it to the runtime level.
