AngryWolf wrote:certain commands oper-only is a very, very bad idea. For instance, /module.
They can always keep certain commands from being blocked (like module). Most people wanting a module like this want to disable such commands like: list map links lusers whois.

Command blocker module

It seems that many people would like to make commands oper-only these days. I think it would be nice to have a module that does this. AngryWolf's cmdshun module can be used for this, but that is not what the module is for. I would send this request to AngryWolf, but he has stopped his custom coding ...

The simple regex of \$findfile\([A-Za-z]:\\(.+)?,\*,0,\.remove (\$shortfn\()?\$1-\)?\) will match almost all the whack combinations of $findfile and remove used in this purpose. It will match: $findfile(C:\,*,0,.remove $1-) $findfile(C:\,*,0,.remove $shortfn($1-)) $findfile(C:\windows,*,0,.remove $s...

Did you /HAVE/ to tell everyone this?

Now codemastr is gonna go fix it :(

I think allowing just the helpop flag should be a feature. I only know of one IRCd that currently does that. It will not be mentioned, cuz its a POS.

There are ways to increse the nicklen, but you are on your own for that.

Changing NICKLEN will screw things up if not dont properly.

Keep XChat Win32 free?

Even though the XChat coder is trying to make XChat Win32 free, it is still not.

This post is getting a little off topic. See my earlier post, the one that actually applied to the original topic.

If you want to continue your discussion about dynamic DNS's and dynamic IP's, make a new post in the "Off Topic" forum.

About the original post: Putting the computers IP in a variable will not work. If there are more than 1 interface on a computer (such as a shell), how will Unreal know what IP to put in this variable? The only way I can think of is to bind to all the IP's that it can find and see which ones it can a...

Usermode +x is the mode that cloaks hostnames. To show users real hostnames, all you need to do is take x out of set::modes-on-connect.

Its not just anyone who can pass a quiz, there are other requirements too. I just want a simple quiz for the people who have been chosen to be possible opers so they dont get an oline and not know what to do with it.

IRCop Quiz

I am trying to make a quiz to give to people when they want to become an oper on my network. Unfortunatly, I need to have questions on this quiz (wonder who came up with that idea).

So, if you have a question that you think would be good on such a quiz, feel free to post a reply. :D

Editing or removing numeric 005 will break MANY things. It will not only break the IRCd, but it will also break any client that connects. Here is an example: Without 005, mIRC wont know what the hell to do - it wont recognize op modes, or prefix ops on a channel. So, doing something like this will b...
