Re: Multiple users from same IP (proxy) - will it work prope

I would also recommend using services or a service module that will uniquely set hostnames to identified users. The biggest problem you will have is you will not be able to ban just one person without banning everyone

Re: only my irc can connect to my server !!

This has been discussed MANY times in the past (serach for allowing java only). However, here are a few things that have been discussed in the past and why they won't work: Change the port number to your server, then add that port setting to your script. Changing the port number will only fool peopl...

Re: Chat Times Out

For the ping timeouts or clients not responding, check your pingfreq settings in the class blocks. As for the "connection reset by peer" issue, that is something involving the connection being lost somewhere between their computer and your server. There is nothing that can really be done a...

Also, your regex would need to require 2 parameters, like "^[^ ]+ [^ ]+$"

Re: Op Alias

This is not possible without including the channel name.

Your command would need to be /op #channel user

Your parameters would need to be "%1 +o %2"

Re: IP address shows routers ip instead of users

Is this user connecting from inside your network, using a client installed on your server (like shell access), or a webpage for chatting on your site?

If any of the above is true, you will not see their actual IP address.

Re: Send queue a necessity?

With a comparison such as that, IRC will allow more flow of messages.

UnrealIRCd has a queue, and will apply a delay to messages in that queue when they are sent rapidly. Usually the first 4-5 messages go through without delay, but anything after that will have an increased delay.

Re: Send queue a necessity?

IRC is designed the same way, as well with many other online services. The reason for this is by design for stability, security, and most importantly how information is transferred over the internet. If a server allowed any connected client to send as much information as fast as they wanted, a few t...

Re: set::dns::nameserver is missing

Very ******* of you, yous don't support mods for unrealircd? Most companies enjoy their software having mods made for, increases popularity. 1. We are not a company, rather an online community based on the development of UnrealIRCd, a free and open source IRC server. We support what is the official...

Re: [Question:] Oper Flags

Admin and coadmin are the same. We have 2 levels because when linking to some networks they only allow 1 person labeled as admin.

You are correct about services admin, it includes can_setq and can_dccdeny. A netadmin is the same as a services-admin, again for labeling purposes.

Re: Help me With running the server

A note to anyone considering taking the money: If this server is used for illegal activity (botnets, copyrighted file sharing, terrorism, etc), being paid to set it up and/or run it makes you an accessory to a criminal act and you may be charged the same as the person carrying out such criminal act...
