When i had this problem it ONLY happened in channels which had BotServ bots assigned to them. If i unassigned the bots the problem wouldnt occour which leads me to believe its realted to the BotServ modules. Otherwise i dont know what could cause it.

I blieve this is an issue with Anope services itself and not UnrealIRCd because as the text says the mode changes are being supposedly sent from the services server. One thing which i dont know if itll work or not is to try and delte the botserv database file which is something like bots.db and recr...

Have you got a BotServ bot assigned to the channel? If so try unassigning the bot and see if the modes are still changed like that. I had a problem like this so i had to move my services to another computer which solved it for me. If thats not an option for you i can only suggest completly uninstall...

In the way od DDoS protection as far as i am aware there isnt any good form of protection. Also putting that protection on the server in the way of software is a bit pointless cause itll be your router/firewall that usually goes down first or at least thats whats happened in my experiance.

Looking at the comments in the source for the netadmins module i came accross this: * Optionally, you can set some options to specify how the module * should work. The configuration looks like this: * * set { * // Choose "no" here if you would like to allow * // netadmins to kill each othe...

The error message you quoted above is suggesting you do not have a link block beggining:

Code: Select all

link Services.friendsnet.servegame.com {
If that doesnt solve it im not sure what to try next.

I was made to believe that rehashing cancels the effect perhaps they meant shutting down and restarting ther server as a rehash doesnt clear things like bans either so may just be that.

If you were to install Anope there is a very nice feature available for disabling all opers on any server on your network. The operserv NOOP command which diables all O:lines on the givern server. Which would then prevent any hacker from gaining IRCop priviledges. The only ways to reverse the effect...

Simple answer. He spoofed his hostname with domain.name.uk which is not an existant domain name.

Id suggest a zline on his IP or better still a global zline using either /zline *@IPADDRESS LENGTH REASON or /gzline *@IPADDRESS LENGTH REASON

I have to say i agree with Stealth on this. It is your responsibility as a system administrator to report this sort of activity as the can sometimes be consiquences for you for not reporting it. At the end of the day it takes little time to report it so its not really worth the hassel you could get ...

Speaking of Anti-Viruses McAfee hates the cloaking module so i just told it to allow it. Which im pretty sure is a feature of most good Anti-Virus products. The ability to trust files based on your decision.

If it's not a silly question, why would you need to rename wircd.exe?

/who -m +z
Should list all users without user mode +z set. But this is only available to IRC Ops. Non-IRCops can only use o/C/A/a/N in the place of z
