Recieved a complaint this morning that some DCC sends were blocked between 2 specific users. No idea, i've never had to use it. me either. The setup works well as it is for if a hub went down, but when one comes back it seems ALL the servers split once before they are satisfied with the link. It's not terriable, but say 5 mins after a hub comes back up all hell brakes loose until its relin...

I would not consider not using SSL when linking servers. I agree. Setting up SSL on mIRC is very quick and easy. As for other clients, most in my experience do have SSL support one way or another. Where I the same as the other posters will still join a non SSL network, I always use SSL if I know it...
