Today, Unreal 3.2.1 has been released. This version addresses a flaw that was discovered in the cloaking algorithm (+x) of previous versions that could allow someone to discover the IP addresses of users. It is strongly recommended that anyone running a previous version upgrade as soon as possible. But, this version also introduces some nice new features. The biggest new feature is that the Windows version now supports modules! A DCCALLOW system (similar to DALnet's) has also been added, a new extended ban type (~n) to stop nick changes has been added, as well as CIDR support and a bunch of other nice new features.

Ive never seen an IRCd that DID allow nick changes while a user was banned .. how is this new?

Because +b ~n ONLY prevents nickchanges :P. (just like ~q ONLY prevents text)

Oh I see .. so +b ~n users can still send to channel? .. just no nick changes? correct?

Exactly. The idea is, say you have one of those guys who has a script that auto changes his nickname back when he gets Guested, rather than having to kick the user, you can just set +b ~n:... and then he can't continue to annoy everyone :)

Well since I would just outright ban the user it wouldn't annoy me anyway :P but I can see the usefulness of the command.

If the main page (http://www.unrealircd.com) is down then you can use my temporary backup download page on www.vulnscan.org/download.html.

Is it just me, or do none of the official mirrors have the Win32-SSL version?

EDIT: Never mind. Found it on Syzop's site. Think you should mention it on the downloads page, though.

(at least) one of the german mirrors has it.

But yeah I agree... perhaps we should add something that explains where to get the win32 ssl version... codemastr? :)

Hmm, I suppose I could tack an (SSL) on the end for those that have SSL, or something like that...
