Try this one:

/SPAMFILTER ADD pc block - - (^| )#.+

But I think this will generate lots of hits and annoy all your users. They'll hate you for that... So I'd rather not use it

Better match REAL spam... or close those channels that are advertising too much... or gline the spammers manually... This spamfilter is an overkill, imho.

They way #mirc on undernet does it is the best way imo, they have a bot hop the channel every so often and check for messages if it gets one kick and ban the user.

I really don't like that...
It's very annoying having a user (bot) joining/parting every X minutes. Don't they just use this method because they don't have our very nice /spamfilter system?
