Spamfilters do not use normal wildcard matching, they use Regular Expressions for matching. * and ? are not the same in Regular Expressions as they are everywhere else.

For info and a quick guide on using Regular Expressions, see the docs: http://www.unrealircd.com/files/docs/un ... html#regex
