How to get rid of the invite server notices to @ and opers ?

Post by ]Godlike[ »

it`s a pain with botnet of 20+ bots linked to botnet and then bots self invite themself to +i channels and i as a @ or & get all the invite notices.

Is there a way to disable to get them. I already tried the /mode ]Godlike[ -s , but this isnt this :(

Any help appreciated, thx.

How do they invite themselves? Are they Opped??? :shock:

You could set chanmode +V, but that's probably not a solution for you... :?

I think he's asking how to get rid of the "SomeBot invited SomeOtherBot into the channel" notification.

Which, AFAIK, can't be done.

Just kill/gline/spamfilter/whatever the botnet out of your network and the problem is solved... :P

Ok now, the botnet servers a reason there u know ......
So this is not an option. You told me that there cant be done nothing ot the server itself to prevent that, now im asking if there can be done something on my client to at least 'channel' these notices to a separate window, or even better to the status window of the server, btw. im using mirc client.

And one more this setting +I mode on chan would help so they dont need to invite themself, but guess what even this not supported in unreal ircd :(
This day is getting worse by the minute :cry:

Realy no one has some suggestion how to "script" my mirc?

Sure, you can just block that in mIRC (I'll leave that over to our mirc script fans).

As for +I, it's on todo and will probably appear in next release.

if your IRC client has some sort of scripting language I suppose you could always write a script to make it so the IRC client just halts when it sees this notice and never shows it to you or anything. Too lazy to make an example script though.

Code: Select all

ON ^*:NOTICE:* invited * into the channel*:#:{ haltdef }
