TCP/IP Not Responding

Post by mus3na »

Hi, iam using Unreal win32. This is my fourth trial to run the irc network and the same problems always occure. I already try using lot of ircd configuration but still no hope.

the problems is my server will lost all tcp/ip communication for few minutes when running unreal ircd 3.2.3. this situation happen randomly so it is difficult to trace where the problems came.

if somebody already faced the same or almost same problems before and able to overcome it, please let me know how to fix this problems.

during this problems period, all tcp/ip to internet lost including web, email, etc but all local ip communication remain. if i connect to ircd using localhost, i will not being disconnected and the ircd still responding to any command issued however all other user will be disconnected (Connection reset by peer).

Sounds like you have an ISP problem. Call tech support.
Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

Yup got to agree , If your local is fine and net is fritzy then its either ISP or router . Dont know why but cheap routers have a habit of dropping the line . From what I can figure out its to do with the isp changing ip addy .
Yawn. So there's yet another "if the user clicks the button, they're infected" exploit. Why is this news? We already know users are idiots.

at first i also tought it being cause by isp. however i also have 2 shell outside my country, one in taiwan and 1 in us. a test using this shell already performed and the result can be said same. the problems also happen at random time interval.

Your connection to the outside world can be seen as a chain:

Code: Select all

someplace --------------------|
                              |
a shell -------------------- your isp ------------- you
If there is a problem from you to your ISP, you will have problems no matter what you do.
