new 3.2 release possible problem

Post by Solutech »

Since upgrading from rc2 to 3.2 I am finding a lot of users getting dcd with Connection reset by peer . I have two dns addresses I use for access and it is only effecting the public address . but not the staff one . Ive queried this with the dns service I use and am waiting a reply back . Is there anyway I can make the server more tolerant so it doesnt dc ppl so quickly if they are idling ?.

Right its dcing ppl dead on 6 mins which is what the ping frequency is. As long as ppl are typing they are ok but as soon as they idle it dc's them . Any other ideas ? . nothing has changed I went from 3.2 rc2 to the 3.2 final . its the win32 version without the ssl . Got me baffled .

"Connection reset by peer" has nothing to do with the IRCd. You have to blame ISPs for that. If it were "Ping timeout" that's another story, but a peer message means someone else (a hop along the way) is closing the connection. Unreal has no control over that.
