I'm currently running Unreal3.2.3. I just wanted to have a little fun, so I tried some things.
1. I joined a random channel, say #asd. Then I typed by hand "/mode $asd +k *". This would have made the channel key set to "*". The problem is that when I double click in the channel (I'm using mIRC 6.16) to open the channel control dialog, the key field is enabled, but empty. It cannot be removed also . Not sure it's a "bug", since I've also seen it on ircu (Undernet's own IRCD). It can still be removed with "/mode #asd -k *", though..
2. I just typed "/join #" and there i was: in the "#" channel. Not sure this a "bug" either... but I've never seen a void channel name.
2 strange things.
2 strange things.
Computers are machines that cause trouble you wouldn't normally have if you wouldn't have a computer.
Re: 2 strange things.
This is definitely a client issue. If you type "/mode #asd", you'll see something like "#asd +k *", an indication that the key "*" is valid on the server side. The acid test is, of course, to test this using a different IRC client.Grunt wrote:1. I joined a random channel, say #asd. Then I typed by hand "/mode $asd +k *". (By the way, I hope that "/mode $asd +k *" was a typo. )
"#" is a valid channel name.Grunt wrote:2. I just typed "/join #" and there i was: in the "#" channel. Not sure this a "bug" either... but I've never seen a void channel name.
Not that it matters, but Atheme will allow registration of #.
