You may find that it is a client thing... some clients dont support ~& prefixes, only @%+.

mIRC should support it, as should xchat and virc (with some changing of configuration)

Hm. Ok, so when you did ./config you enabled the +aq &~ prefixes.
Try /mode #thelounge <nick>
That should return your modes (in other words, make sure the +q is setting and not getting unset)

Also, you can't set +q on yourself unless you've got the services administrator setting in your oper block. (I think.)

Not 100% sure what you're trying to ask, but here's some information which may answer your question:
  • If you're compiling from the source, you're asked whether you want it on or off - therefore, just tell everyone on your network to compile with it turned on.
  • It's automatically switched on in all the official Win32 distributions.

You need can_override or use /samode.

And just in case, you're referring to how to automatically set users +q and +a, you would use services.

PREFIX_QA aren't more of a services thing, if anything else. It isn't really useful if you are a netadmin with can_override. If you really want QA on you in the channel you are in install and link services and register the channel!
