People Idleing on server

Post by 2dish »

At times we have up to 80 people idling on server , they don't join any rooms , they just sit there for weeks at the time , is there a way we could have the system check say every few hours annd glins people who are idling on server ?

This would require a module since such a feature doesnt already exist. But bear in mind thats a quick way to get a bad name for your network/server. Since some users for example leave all channels when theyre away. And if theyre say away on vacation that could mean theyre idling for a few weeks just because theyre away.

You mean you feel we should leave them idle on server ?

What's so bad about people idling on the server? I never see why people don't want this.

The only way to fix this is to make your own module for Unreal, or get a services module and make a script to use it.

2dish their idling usually has less of an effect on your bandwidth than someone actively talking. If they are transfering movies or files they're doing it from their computer to the other persons.

every user is responsible for his own doing, so don´t worry and let them share if they want.
