Re: [HELP] howto install Unrealircd + SSL on Ubuntu?
Using windows apps with Linux: http://www.codeweavers.com/products/ While CrossOver is a paid application so most cheapskates will dodge it or warez it, it's a fairly descent app and isn't all that expensive compared to of some of the apps it'll run. Codeweaver is based on Wine but IMHO far more user friendly and worth the money.natalie wrote:If I switch from Vista to ubuntu is there a way to use windows or mac programs in ubuntu? Also is there a media player? games like Solitaire? I already use open office. are the Ubuntu programs compatible with Windows/ Mac like Open Office? and how do I find Additional programs that are compatible with Ubuntu without getting spyware filled trash instead?
Games like solitaire are already around for Linux natively as well as some PC games and some PC like games. For example if you like First Person Shooters like Doom or Quake, then see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fr ... n_shooters for a list of FreeWare FPSs that work Linux, Mac and windows.
As far as getting these applications to to work for you, I can't help much since I really don't use ubuntu.
