wircd.exe hangs

Post by Jo-W »

For some reason when i startup unreal wircd hangs, and then i need to reboot before it closes. First it checks the log files then it hangs, cant connect to it, etc. and it does not create any log files, except when i make a conf file mistake.

I'm running windows xp pro without a service pack. everything was fine till i rebooted my comp...

Things i have tried:

1. non ssl version precompiled
2. ssl version precomplied
3. cvs version precompiled
4. cvs version compilied myself
5. executing as service using unreal start (nothing in service.log)
6. executing normal (opening wircd.exe)
7. reinstalling
8. running it as an other user
9. slapping my comp

Have you tried getting the normal 3.2Release (ie NOT cvs) and compiling that?

Knowing Microsoft, probably a reinstall. However, do try the "add remove programs" and in there, "Windows Components" or something similar.

I use VS.NET myself, so I have no such troubles.

:? Sorry, I'm unable to help you with this. Perhaps one of the coders, or another community member might have a suggestion.
