Virtual link server

Post by vitorhp » Sun Feb 01, 2009 3:39 pm

I have some questions about linking servers.

Is possible create a 'virtual link', only to allow a to connect in my HUB, to put local admins and opers? Or linking can be made only with 2 machines (HUB and another one)?

Best regards,

Well, both servers must have link blocks to connect anyway and that's standard link.

As documented in ... #linkblock there is a link block option which limits the REMOTE link to ONLY using local oper's meaning no oper on that server can have a level above local, including admin. Said option is called "quarantine" and goes in the "options" sub block of the link block. As for preventing them from linking any other servers, the easiest way is to add "leafdepth" with a value of 1. Alternatively you could add "leaf *;" meaning that any server matching * cannot be linked to the server who's link block the directive is in.
