As I have no answer to my posts, my question is clear: when will the developers do implement unicode on Unrealircd?

Thanks once again in advance for your answer,

Simple answer: Never.

Long answer: UnrealIRCd already supports unicode as much as it possibly can. UnrealIRCd is an input/output daemon, which means it redistributes the information it receives to the proper sources without modification. If you send a channel some unicode text, all the participants will receive unicode text. As for nicknames and channel names, unicode will NEVER be added. The reason for this is because with unicode's near unlimited library of symbols and characters it is impossible to map cases and check for duplicates, fakes, etc. Taking my nick for example, there can be hundreds of different users all using what appears to be the nickname "Stealth". How is this possible? Unicode has multiples of every character, all with a different character code. A program would see these as different people, but humans cannot tell the difference.

It is not the answer that I hoped, but I thank you for this clear explanation.
