SSL cert/key mismatch

Post by DB3 » Tue Nov 07, 2017 7:26 pm

Recently set up UnrealIRCd 4 and all seems to be working except for SSL for the most part.

Linking Anope over SSL with UnrealIRCd works.
Connecting too port 6667 works
Connecting from TheLounge(hosted irc client) on port 6697 with SSL enabled works.

Connecting from mIRC on SSL does not work and I receive the message SSL cert/key mismatch
mIRC is setup to accept invalid certs
Connecting from irssi on SSL does not work with the message connection reset by peer (previously I receives a SSL mismatch error as well).

I am using the install generated cert files. I tried to replace those with the Let's Encrypt ones that contain the FQDN for the server address and use ./unrealircd rehash and reloadtls afterwards and this did not work as well. Trying to connect to local IP instead of a hostname does not work.

So while SSL appears to be working it seems like TheLounge just ignores any errors (I think) with it, mIRC and irssi don't. (and most likely more not)

Can anyone assist me to fix this issue?

Strange. I've never heard of this error. Do you still have this problem?
If so, do you mind sharing the host/IP so we can test?
If you already resolved it, what was it?
