I was wondering if anyone could make a module that would make it so oper names aren't case sensitive..like if your oper was "Dante" you could still go /oper dante blah..sorta like Unreal3.1.x.

I am not sure why you would want something like this. It will greatly decrease security.

Here is how:

Using a 10 char logins and passwords of just letters and numbers, currently there are approx 704423425546998100000000000000000000 combinations. Disabling case sensitivity reduces it to approx 13367494538843734000000000000000 combinations. That is approx 704410058052459270000000000000000000 LESS possibilities.

i just want it where the usernames aren't case sensitive. not the passwords.

Those figures are for case and non case sensitive usernames and passwords . As stated it will decrease security . The simple answer to this is not have sloppy opers who dont remember what case you set their operblock to . What you are in effect asking for is a module that will make your server less secure .

I just said, I still wanted the passwords case sensitive. And it isn't a problem on my network, I just sort of miss that from the old Unreal3.1.x. More of a matter of preference.
