EPIC: /helpop gives "unknow command"

Post by Lalkin »

I think this is my client (epic) but am having no luck finding help on the net about this.

Most of the undernet-specific / commands don't work. I keep getting "unknow command" when I try to use them.

Anyone happen to use epic and know how to make epic pass these commands to the server?

This is a client issue.

Renamed topic; moved to appropriate forum.

/quote helpop <text> ?
/raw helpop <text> ?

I never understood why they don't send the stuff as-is if it's not recognized.

Some clients have strange behavior anyway.. like, take irssi, /connect is an alias for /server.. that's fun for ircops if you are not a 100% irssi user ;).

Thanks. =)

Hmm, now to figure out how to write a script that automaticly does "/quote command" if the client says unknown command. 8)

It's best to be careful with that idea or you will get you client locked in a nasty loop.

You should definitely try this:

EPIC4 Online Help - dispatch_unknown_commands

Btw, EPIC is one of my favourite clients. :)
