Howsit guys... Some friends and I are trying to start up a network, but what we were wondering is, is there a way to say use a seperate server which isn't one of the networks servers, to link the other network servers. Basicly like a hub... We were considering this, cause in theory it would prevent the entire network from disconnecting on a netsplit... Would this be possible? Or is there an easier way...
Thanks in advanced...

Linking hub...

Of course that's possible. Just don't allow any client connections to the server (well maybe you could add a password protected allow block). Be sure to not add a DNS entry for that server and use a "fantasy" name for it.

BUT... If this hub goes down, the network IS disconnected completely...

If you don't make mistakes, you aren't really trying.

Yes i realise that, but it's better than if like in most cases the main server goes down in a netsplit and the whol network drops. cause there's no connections to it, it should be a lot safer, secure and stable... With that we'll atleast be able to maintain some sense of order... Thanks for the tip... Hopefully it works... Now it's just getting it all set up...
