FAQ 'what unreal versions link with what' missing?

Post by HelpChanneln00b » Fri Aug 17, 2007 12:31 pm

I tryed to find out more about what versions of unrealircd would link with other version of unrealircd. I thought i had seen this in the FAQ, but when i checked i couldn't find it. Tryed the Documents and a Forum search? I dont know if there needs to be some information about what versions of unrealircd will link together or not. That is what am looking for, i was wondering if there would be any problems with linking the new version of the unrealircd with old version of the ircd. Where talking ircds that haven't been updated in a long time. Any help would be welcome or documents, Thanks :)
P.S i didn't find this to be relivant to UnrealIRCd Support board. And a little off topic, hope you dont mind me posting this here. :)

It is not recommended to link different versions of Unreal as this can (and most likely will) cause net splits/chrashes. *If* you do link different versions such as 3.2.6 and 3.2.7 do not do so for any longer than what you absolutely have to. If you are looking to link versions such as 3.2.3 to 3.2.7 I really do strongly discourage it as it will more than likely effect the stability of your network.

Thanks. It was Unreal3.2.1. with the latest version. I will look into updating both. :)
