Channel Called "*" on network, with users in it?

Post by Standbye »

Hi together,

i have little problem.

I did a list last night on my network and found a channel called "*", yes no #* or so just a * and userlist of mirc shows me 5 users in it.
The strange thing is, as soon as i oper up, the channel dissappears.
Is there a way to see whats in that channel? or if its just a bug that i get that channel listed (also tested with serveral other clients same problem)

The user count changes from time to time, any possibility to join there?

greetings
Peter

I suspect you have a room set to private . This turns the channel name to a * . It vanishes when you /oper as opers can see private rooms . Look for the addition to your /list :P
Yawn. So there's yet another "if the user clicks the button, they're infected" exploit. Why is this news? We already know users are idiots.
