oper problem

Post by martpen69 »

Im using 3.2.3 on free bsd the ircd is running and all is ok.

Im using a small shell for me and some friends to test eggs on so ive scaled down the config file because most is not needed. We are not running any services cause there is no real need and we want the bg processes for the eggs. The problem is when the first person opers the rest cannot we get the message no olines for your host. all the host masks are set to *@* and /quote oper nick pass also gives the same result. anyone can oper as long as they are first to do so. But like i said it seems life the ircd is limiting it to only one oper. The flags for each oper are just netadmin and can_override as nothing else is needed.

I hope i have been detailed enough for some kind gent to give me some insight into what ive done.

By the way I run my own networks and have compiled lots of ircds my biggest being over 1000 users. So im not a complete n00b.

Thanks for your time in advance.

Make sure you rehashed, and the o:line shows up in /stats o. Then be sre you are typing it right, o:lines are case-sensitive. If everyone is using the same o:line, then make sure you don't have oper::maxlogins set.

thanks for the reply. I have rehashed the server there are 3 oper blocks all with the same flags different login and diff pass. The max logins as I understand it is optional and is not included. We have been playing with this for some time now and have recompiled the ircd 3 times. After adding the operblocks we restarted the server just to make sure. All our testing has led us no where. The only thing i havent tried is all login in using the same login and pass. I will try this and report back.

Thanks
