howto forward connections from my original irc server?
I have a problem with my irc server. My isp told me not to use ircd on my server. now i heard of something called as "bouncer". is there a way to setup auto-forwarding of port 6667 (and so on) for my server to another? thnx for ur help...
I am. I can.
Get a different ISP, or host the ircd externally (and point irc.blah.com to the appropriate place).. that's about it. As it'll still be bound to your internal IP - you're stuck

when you say isp do you mean your actual isp like AOL or a shell provider ? .
If its your actual ISP Id tell them to whistle personally as you pay for your net connection and unless their T&C's say no ircd's you have done nothing wrong . How you use that connection is up to you as long as its within their Terms Of Service .
If its a shell provider then move to another that allows ircd and redirect the dns to the new provider.

Yawn. So there's yet another "if the user clicks the button, they're infected" exploit. Why is this news? We already know users are idiots.
If your ISP doesnt want you running a server, they will cut you off for using a port 6667 redirection method, because they cannot tell the difference, and even if they could, it causes the same problems for them and they wouldnt care.
Why the hell can't my signature be empty?
