Looking for services
Hey is there any services for unrealircd around that work on windows and when each user registers on nickserv it makes a txt file or something for the user with the password in it????
Most services reply with the password and a sensible admin makes sure he can use getpass should they forget . I use IRCservices which work on windows just fine . Link to IRCServices
Yawn. So there's yet another "if the user clicks the button, they're infected" exploit. Why is this news? We already know users are idiots.
Looking at the very first topic is always a nice idea.
Moogey, most use files of some description - ircservices and anope use binary files (ie: text stored with the length of the text encoded at the start, etc), atheme uses text databases.. all sorts of stuff.
I tend to only like the idea of plaintext passwords under *very* limited conditions, and generally not at all. No SENDPASS/GETPASS, sure - but you can work in replacements like SET PASS by an admin, or things like that.

No. You could have a play with anope's SQL option though.

Yeah, DNB - but they are written to one (not-easily-parsable) database file - not to mention the disaster that could happen should Services try and update while your app was mucking about with the file.
