channel nick list display.

Post by astragal »

Once upon a time, there was a .conf flag in Unreal, where you could change how the channel nicklist displayed names. You could choose to have the channel owner designated by a special character "~", or by the regular "@" chan-op symbol. I can't find where to change this now in the most recent documentation.

Is it still possible to set the channel nick list do not display owner-ness, and only show operator-ness ?

Thanks, astra

There is a ./Config question that asks you if you wish to enable it. The default is no. You need to recompile Unreal if you don't want it.

Stealth, thanks for the reply.

So those of us who use the precompiled win32 version can't change that?

Maybe in the future that could be moved from ./config to the .conf.

It has been suggested to be moved to the .conf before, but that wasn't done because it would take more time to process nicklists IIRC. I don't think this will ever be in the conf.

There are ways you can compile your own, or I have a version precompiled at http://www.x-tab.org/~ircd/ Read everything, and you will find it.
