After 3,5 years UnrealIRCd 5 has reached its end of life. The only supported branch is now UnrealIRCd 6.
On October 30, 2021 we announced that all support for UnrealIRCd 5, including security fixes, would stop on July 1, 2023. That was a notification 20 months in advance and more recently we have been warning in release announcements, on twitter and on this forum as well. By now most people have upgraded to UnrealIRCd 6.
If you have not upgraded yet, have a look at Upgrading from UnrealIRCd 5. UnrealIRCd 5 was a big step forward, but UnrealIRCd 6 is even more awesome. UnrealIRCd 6 supports pretty much all IRCv3 specifications, has built-in GeoIP support, a completely redone logging system with optional JSON logging, JSON-RPC and support for an external webpanel. PS: Running "./unrealircd upgrade" on UnrealIRCd 5 will now prompt you to upgrade to UnrealIRCd 6.
